Our original idea for our music video, although it fitted with our genre, was not the idea we used for our final product.
This is our original idea for our music video.
We decided to change this idea as although it look interesting the band didn't appear to be enjoying themselves, as although they were at a theme park style event they were only looking and not taking part. We went to Winter Wonderland in London to shot this footage and we wanted to include the band on the rides however this would not fit in with our budget so we had to rethink about what we wanted to shoot to make the band look as though they are enjoying themselves and having a good time together.
This is our final product.
Our new idea works a lot better as the band are taking part in the places that have been filmed, also it shows them playing and mucking around which makes them appear as the group get along well together which is shown in real life media texts.

Evaluation Question 3
To gather audience feedback for my product I posted a YouTube link onto
Facebook and asked for people to watch it and leave their opinion on the
video. It is an essential part of the process for us to gather audience feedback for our music video so we can develop the project and make it suit what our target audience is looking for in a music video and also to improve the professionalism of our product and create an excellent quality piece of work.
The results we received from this idea of gathering audience feedback were very slim, so although the feedback was useful and allowed us to improve our work I felt that I needed to gether more feedback to have a wider range of opinions on the video so our changed suited the majority feedback rather then just from one person. From this feedback however, as a group we decided that we still needed to do some work to make our music video look as professional as possible. We decided to alter the shot we had originally used at 0:37 to make the video appear more professional.
I also asked people to watch the video and recorded some of their feedback, editing my music video using their comments to improve my work.

Evaluation Question 2
Although our main product and our
ancillary task appear to be very different there a subtle parts of each that
make the two have an effective combination.
The image we have chosen for the
band is similar in both our main product and our ancillary task. They wear chinos or jeans and a t-shirt
in both the CD cover and within the music video, which suggests that they are
both from the same genre, Indie Rock, and that they link together. It is essential for them to have a
similar image in each to show that the two link together in some way, without
this link the audience would not know that they are supposed to link together.
Another way in which the two link
together is the genre of the two pieces.
Through the use of costume and location within our music video it is obvious that the genre of the video is Indie Rock,
and through the use of the costumes linking it then also suggests that the
album cover is of an indie rock genre.
Other features of the album cover also suggest that it is from the same
genre as the music video. These
are the bright colours of the paints and chalk but also the bold writing to emphasize who the band is and the name of
the album. The bright colours link in with the main image of our
advertisement, which is also part of
the inside of our CD album. These
bright colours and the bold writing of the advertisement suggest that this is
also part of the indie rock genre.

Ancillary Task Progress
From our latest draft of our Ancillary Task we noticed that the writing on the back for the songs appeared to be too large and we also needed more songs, as a group we thought of some new songs to add to our bands album and also reduced the size of it. We noticed that other CD covers have copyright information so we decided that for our CD cover to look professional we needed to add this information to our back cover. The background of the 'boys' also looked very plain and to make this part of the advert more interesting for the audience we added little messages from each of the band members to their listeners to make the band members seem friendly and show them communicating with there fans. Although there is still work to be done on the CD cover I feel that the progress we have made so far has improved our cover greatly from our previous idea.

Filming for music video
During our media lesson my group decided to go and film for our music video. Although we decided this in advance our initial plans were changed due to the snow. We still decided to film however, as we thought the snow could show the youth of the band and them having fun together.
