CD Cover Research

''''''
This is one of the CD Covers for artist Two Door Cinema Club. This is interesting as they have used the familiar circles of a cats eyes to show the o's of the word 'Door'.  This cover has relatively low key lighting and has very few colours used in the cover. The use of having a thinner style of writing for the O's and C's is different and makes them individual from the other artists and stand out from the crowd.  We could use a cover similar to this as the artist Two Door Cinema Club fall into the same genre that we have chosen.

Unlike the CD Cover for Two Door Cinema Club the cover for The Wombats is very colourful and bright. The use of bright colours makes it noticeable and unique. The font of the writing reminds me of someone's diary, which relates to the title of 'A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation.' Also, unlike the other CD Cover high key lighting is used in this CD Cover which makes it bright and stand out.  We could use a cover similar to this as the artist The Wombats fall into the same genre that we have chosen.

In this CD cover few colours are seen, this is because an effect has been added to the image which makes it seem older.  This is similar to the CD Cover by Two Door Cinema Club as it has few colours but more high key lighting rather then low key.  The font used in this cover is bold and easy to read, using a larger font for the band's name to make it stand out more.  We could use a cover similar to this as the artist You Me At Six fall into the same genre that we have chosen.

All 3 of these CD covers follow the conventions of an Indie Rock CD cover, as they all have the name of the band and the album name in large writing, and also the images they have decided to use are very unique as no-body has used the idea before which relates to the Indie Rock genre and being individual.
